21 on the cake, not the random number you see below....

Hello people! Am back! My blog got broke when we moved surver and the hosting company updated their machine with something that blocked blog updates every single time. Apparently it took Girlpants 4 hours to go through their entire back end to find the problem. Mind - it was top on my birthday list...

It has been so long and Monkey's hair has grown, oh, all of 2mm since I last posted. The girl was born with reams of hair and then carelessly lost it all. And as with Sampsons power, with the loss of her hair has come the inability to fight off any lurgy or germ that heads her way. Any of them. And then thinks it would be very nice as a present to infect her mother.

I'm sure that I didn't sign up to 6months of constant sniffles when motherhood was bestowed, so I've spent the last few months researching possible cures for the common cold. And whilst I'm sure some big pharmacutical has the cure squirrelled away somewhere, I have found some treatments of respite. After all, alcohol kills the germs but amazingly enough, expensive chocolate eases the throat...

Well, anyone who knows me, will be wondering why it took so long, but... Erika recently popped up on MSN whilst I was at work!

Yes, that is my little monkey engaged in a video conference with her Daddy :D

Apologies for the very lengthy delay in fixing the blog...

It took quite some time, but I finally managed to resolve the various technical problems and I hope normal service can now be resumed :D

Happy New Year

As Sim is a little busy with Erika, I thought I'd share a few Christmas photos...  It was a wonderful Christmas with a very happy little monkey.

Yes, that is about all the snow we had.  As you can see, her monkey (named My) still makes an appearance, but look what she got in her stocking...

Yes, it's another monkey - and guess what we called it... yes, that's right, it's called Spank ;)

I'm sure there is something else in here...

Hello everyone, yes, it's Girlpants here...  Sim is still around, but has been unable to blog as her laptop died, I finally managed to fix it for her so you should be hearing more from her in the coming weeks.

Well, the last week has not been much fun, the HD household has been a rather miserable one with me full of flu - prescribed with Tamiflu..., Sim suffering with bad cold/flu and Erika with a cold and ear infection!  But, ignoring all of this, Erika is 1 today!

Happy Birthday Erika

Rather unusually for us, our forward planning meant that Erika's birthday card appeared on CBeebies this morning - Sim was very pleased when Alex showed Erika's card :D

So our little girl is one, lots of presents although she hasn't done much playing today, hopefully we'll have more photos etc. on-line as soon as possible...

Bye for now,

Me!

Some much has happened in such little time.

Mini-hd (aka Monkey) has now got eight teeth and is currently upstairs howling her way through her ninth. Poor thing. I've tried dowsing the gum with brandy but apparently I should only rub and not offer her the full shot. This parenthood melarky is such a learning curve...

I can't believe that she'll be starting nursery soon. Or that she swam underwater for the first time yesterday. She didn't like it but she did it which made me v proud. And her reward is a nasty little tooth that looks like it's coming out sideways with her screams of anguish. Poor love.

Must remember to egg-box her room...

Meanwhile, Plastic Fuzz has signed off. Shout out to Plastic Fuzz - if you ever come back online, send me a line! I did turn around to Girlpants as we watched the news on Nightjack that we would lose some good decent bloggers as the Times forced the name of an anon police blogger to be published. From reports however, the silly boy did write about some aspects of cases before they went to trial which could have an affect on appeals, however the repercussions is that we lose good bloggers who don't want to lose their jobs, especially in the current climate. Which is amazing as I was offered a job the other week. Part-time if I could get the child care which I can't as the local police have brought down an internet child porn ring which has left parents scrabbling for decent nursery places, whist those who used Little Teds are left wondering why and how to support each other.

In the midst of these sombre thoughts, Girlpants finally has some time to stay at home and the pigging heavens open. So much for my Indian summer. And I was really looking forward to getting my pegs out.

Pondering these thoughts, I leave you dear readers with these two classics that are bound to bring a smile of joy.

After all - something has to help with the sudden downpour that's now hit July, and if we keep singing it, the sun may return...

I was going to write a long lenthy post about how the last few weeks have flown and how on the two occassions I had two seconds to rub together, that I did actually write something but then bloody vista kicked me out, losing everything.

But on a much more important matter, I've rearranged the kitchen with a travelcot so that mini-hd can remain in the room without roaming to pastures new, like the wine fridge or the cooker. Which means Sim the barefooted chef met with one of the dining chairs tonight and stubbed her second in middle right toe.

And God - it hurts.

It swollen to the size of my thumb and I can see the beginings of a lovely purple bruise. Although you can't really claim you have a bruise until you have at least two different colours. On a good note, I did have a moment to paint my nails so the fact that I have to slum it around in sandles all week. On a bad note, storms are predicted this week so I'm going to look like a right pleb pushing a pram in the rain in flip flops.

It's that time of year again - reality tv has hit the screens once more, and whilst the cats nuzzle up to us seeking attention after getting over their banishment and flea treatment, Britains Got Talent has hit the screens again. And once more, sweet little childen have joined the masses. And unlike the Cheeky Monkeys last year, whom I found particulary irritating, some of the child acts this year did stand out but the one act tonight who made it to the final judge decision vote broke my heart, as I knew that this terrified yet hopeful 10 year old didn't stand a chance against the impecable dance group, making me queston why young children should be allowed on such a show. And as the vote came in and the judges made their final decision, you could see her hope fade into tears as realisation kicked in.

Then a voice chimed in from the left, quoting that famous South Park episode with the heartless words

"Can you taste the tears Scott??"

Scoot forward three seconds and Girlpants realised what he said, turned to me and realising that he was going to go to hell. Both that coupled with the strong possiblilty that I was most definately going to fulfill my threat of using henna to write the word "twat" on his forehead.

On a good note, it will take about three weeks for Girlpants to scrub the offending word off his head and therefore will have to go to work with a bandana on. And on a brucey bonus note for Keith and Bart, Peter Coghlan aka Mamma Trish will be performaning as Beyonce. And if you're really lucky boys, in a leotard!

Girlpants and I are quietly doing the Eurovision this year. There's a bit of leftover mouldy brie, some sausages from the Polish shop, chorizo and pasta (even though Italy didn't quite make it) on a platter on the table, just to get into the spirit. Girlpants has my old pink beret perched on his brow and I've found some clogs that not only look the part, but stink to high heaven and are a pain in the proverbial to wear. Mini-hd is wearing red, white and blue and is blissfully snoring her way through the voting, whilst Sir Lloyd Webber waves the flag for Queen and country and our Graham is salivating his way through the songs.

As did I. And can you blame me?

What people?! I'm married - not dead!
