When we got our connection at Houston, I saw CNN with the headline that the Pope was close to death - something that apparently was reported as fact in the papers on Saturday! He passed away 2137 GMT on Easter Saturday...

I’ve felt this quite badly - yes he was an arch conservative who disapproved of contraception, women priests, downtrod liberation theology and abortion but he was a good man who did a great deal for the Church and international relations, who brought the faith and goodwill to millions, including the man who shot him.

Shame the next head of the Church of England is not as diplomatic - the wedding is going ahead on Friday, even if it’s the same day as the funeral...

Update - Apparently Big Ears has been browbeaten to changing the date of his wedding... It’s the same day as the Grand National (whoo on the horse jokes!) and has put Corrie into disarray with their planned wedding feature.

So after over 18hours of travel and various changes due to connections and engineering works (British Rail), we finally made it home.

It’s good to be back - the cats clearly missed us, whereas the fish just floated in their tanks eyeballing us for food. To be appreciated, ho hum... All unpacked, Paul has been trying to catch up on sleep whereas I have developed the cold from hell, this time with additional dizzy spells. Joy! More from the crip later... Right after we cath up with TiVo and Saturday night tv!!!

So here we are in the windy city of Las Vegas - the sun is shining, however, the wind is out. And when you go to Las Vegas, you don’t usually pack for wind!

This trip isn’t as drunk as my last experience of LV - Paul has been to his conference with beach bag handbag to match, and I haven’t even seen a CSI crew to jump in on! Got the t-shirt and everything!

Dr Girlpants and Missy Sim

Apparently isn't suitable for children. However that's no excuse for Girlpants not ever seeing any of the episodes. Maybe I'll start an experiment, where he watches them from 1 - 6 instead of the original way.

Just a quick quick post to say happy easter, as we’re off tomorrow to Las Vegas. Girlpants has two conferences and I’m joining to some R&R and therefore joining for the jolly...

Mines in the auction and Pauls will be sold when we return. Needless to say, I’ve been instructed no prangs, no accidents. Just great! Tell me specifically what not to do - I therefore start concentrating on that thought so strongly, that the next thing you know, am slightly rather close to a Robin Reliant...
