Three years ago, I was waiting for a car to turn up outside of my parents, staring at the sky wondering if the rain was going to stop at any given point.

Three months ago, I was insecure in my new job so Girlpants took me out for dinner to celebrate and up the confidence.

Three days ago, in wild panic, I went out to buy a very special card with lovely golden pattern on the top.

Three hours ago, I gave Girlpants the very special card.

Three minutes ago, he pointed out that the lovely golden pattern on the very special card wasn't really a nice pattern as I had first believed whilst quickly perusing in a rush. It was a lovely golden flowerly script which you can only read at a certain angle. A golden flowerly script that said "To my wife on our anniversary"
Opps! Well...the thought was there I suppose.

Happy anniversary Girlpants.
Mwah!

That is funny!

A similar thing happened to Hubby's youngest brother "A". He is the stereotypical American male who does all of his shopping (birthday, Christmas, etc...) at the very last minute! For Mother's Day one year he bought his mother a card on the morning of Mother's Day!

As you can imagine, the selection at that point was pretty picked over. He bought what he thought was a lovely card and gave it to his mother.

It was only when Hubby and I stopped by later that day and she showed it to us did I spot the problem with it.

The American card company, Hallmark, makes a line of greeting cards geared for the African-American community called "Mahogany". The cards tend to have photos of African-American people on their covers or other cultural decorations.

You guessed it! "A" bought his mother a "Mahogany" Mother's Day card! And they're Italian...
